Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has announced a series of appointments and reassignments aimed at enhancing governance and improving service delivery in the state. Among the changes, Akibu Isa Murtala has been assigned a new role within the administration.

Previously serving as the Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the Chief of Staff, Akibu Isa Murtala has now been appointed as the Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating administrative functions.

The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, who emphasized the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and professionalism in public service.

Kano Governor Approves Strategic Appointments and Reassignments

This reassignment comes after the scrapping of the Office of the Chief of Staff, previously held by Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, who has now been redeployed to serve as a Commissioner.

Akibu Isa Murtala hails from Kumbotso Local Government Area and is recognized as one of the young, loyal members of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the state.

The appointment reflects the governor’s strategy to strengthen his team and drive effective governance across Kano State.
