BREAKING: ‘Supreme Court outcome, though final, shows all is not well,’ Atiku Abubakar

Former Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed concerns over the outcome of the election suit he filed against President Bola Tinubu. Atiku, stating that “all is not well” with suit’s result.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.

However, Atiku rejected the result and pursued legal action.

The Presidential Elections Petition Tribunal dismissed his suit and upheld Tinubu’s victory.

Unsatisfied, Atiku proceeded to the Supreme Court and sought to introduce additional “forgery evidence” from Chicago State University. However, the court objected, citing the violation of the 180-day mandatory period stipulated by the law for such pleas.

During a World Press Conference on Monday, Atiku highlighted that the issues at hand go beyond a presidential election. He argued that his evidence points to INEC’s violation of the electoral act and procedures in declaring Tinubu as the president.

He stated, “The Supreme Court outcome, even though final, shows that all is not well.” Atiku also mentioned retired Justice Musa Dattijo Muhammad, who recently provided insights into the situation within the judiciary.

Atiku voiced his concern that when both INEC and the judiciary become embroiled in controversy, it hampers the thriving of democracy.
