Staff of Doguwa and Tudun Wada Local Government Areas have been urged to be punctual and dedicated to their duties to justify their monthly earnings and drive development in their communities.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Bashir Abubakar Yaro Galadima, made the call during a sensitization tour to the two local governments as part of a statewide exercise covering all 44 LGAs in Kano State.

A statement signed by the Chief Information Officer, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai, quoted Alhaji Bashir Galadima as saying that the sensitization tour was in line with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s directive to ensure workers rededicate themselves to their official responsibilities for improved service delivery.

He emphasized the administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of local government employees, recognizing their crucial role in the state’s socioeconomic development. According to him, Kano State has implemented the new minimum wage more comprehensively than many other states, underscoring the government’s concern for workers’ well-being. He urged staff to reciprocate this gesture by diligently executing government policies and programs.

In their remarks, the Chairman of Doguwa Local Government, Alhaji Abdulrashid Rilwan Doguwa, and the Chairperson of Tudun Wada Local Government, who also serves as the state ALGON Chairperson, Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi Mai Jama’a, represented by the Director of Personnel Management, Muhammad Abdullahi Doguwa, commended Governor Yusuf for approving the sensitization exercise, describing it as a morale booster.

They urged local government staff to uphold the directive by avoiding absenteeism and remaining committed to their duties. They also pledged to renovate staff quarters to improve living conditions and ensure the prompt payment of allowances.

Additionally, the two council leaders expressed appreciation to the state government for approving key projects for Doguwa and Tudun Wada, highlighting them as vital democratic dividends.

Staff members who spoke during the event welcomed the initiative and pledged to put in their best efforts. They also called on the local government authorities to create a more conducive working environment through the provision of necessary equipment, timely payment of allowances, and training opportunities.
