In a somber turn of events, Kano State has recently bid farewell to two former commissioners who served during the previous administration of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Good Evening Nigeria had earlier reported the demise of the two commissioners.
Alhassan Muhammad Dawaki, who held the portfolio of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Barrister Zubaida Damakka, the former commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, passed away within the span of three days.
Barrister Zubaida once served as the Kano state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development as Commissioner between 2015 and 2016.
She also served as the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning by Governor Ganduje, an office she headed until 2017.
Dawaki died after battling a brief illness at the age of 79 and left behind wives and 15 children.

An associate of the late Damakka who is a former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Social Media, Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, confirmed her death, saying she died in Abuja after a brief illness, leaving behind three children and a husband.
Their funeral prayers took place in Kano on Sunday according to Islamic rites.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, described Dawaki as a prominent figure and well respected personality whose sudden departure had left a void in the hearts of many.
