The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Abdussalam Gwarzo, who also serves as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Higher Education, has reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to enhancing the quality of higher education.
He made this statement during an official visit to Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The high-profile visit was marked by a warm reception from the college’s management, staff, and students, led by the Acting Provost, Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo, alongside key members of the academic community.
During the visit, the Deputy Governor toured various facilities, including the ICT Center, College Main Library, Clinic, and the newly renovated College Printing Press, to assess the institution’s infrastructure.

Addressing the college community, Comrade Abdussalam Gwarzo emphasized the administration’s commitment to improving educational standards, fostering research and innovation, and ensuring that students have access to modern learning environments.
“Education is the bedrock of development, and our government is determined to provide the necessary support for institutions like this to thrive. We are here to listen, learn, and ensure that your challenges are addressed effectively,” he stated.
The Deputy Governor assured the college of the government’s readiness to tackle any challenges affecting its progress.
In his welcome address, the Acting Provost, Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo, expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as a reflection of the government’s genuine interest in the growth and development of higher education in the state.
“This visit has rekindled our hope and strengthened our resolve to continue providing quality education to our students,” he said.
