Kano Market Traders Association Commends FG’s Affordable Rice Initiative

The Federal Government has commenced the sale of 50kg rice in Kano Under the auspices of Market Traders Association of Nigeria.

The sale is part of the initiatives being put in place by the government towards ameliorating the current socioeconomic challenges, occasioned by the removal of subsidies on petroleum products by the federal government.

The Market Traders Association of Nigeria Northwest zone Kano state distributes one thousand 50 kilograms rice in Kano state.

The market Traders Association of Nigeria Public relation officer DR Sadiq Umaru Kuji noted that the initiative, which is intended to bring relief to the people, would go a long way in reducing the price of foodstuffs, stating that the procedure involves verification of the National Identity Number (NIN), and the payment of the sum of N40,000 for the subsidised 50 kilograms of rice using the Automatic Teller Machine (ATM).

Dr. Sadeeq Umaru Kuji reiterated that the initiatives solely meant for households aged 25 and above to be sold out of the rice to be benefited.

He further added that for now, the total number of 1,000 bags of 50kg Rice would be distributed, and since the day before yesterday, which is the 27th of November. 2024 has been sharing the rice as part of the programme put in place by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Consequently, out of the federal government force officials put in place to oversee the distribution of the Rice are EFCC, ICPC DSS, and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.

Some Kano Residents who benefit from the distribution of rice express their happiness and are overwhelmed for the initiatives and Commended the Market Traders Association for the good job well-done.

They further expressed and demended his Excellency, the President of Nigeria Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Continue this kind of gesture as part of good initiative to alleviate poverty, hunger, and starvation through the market Traders Association of Nigeria.
