In the ongoing Kano State local government elections, prominent political figures including Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso exercised their civic duty by casting their votes.
Good Evening Nigeria reports that Governor Yusuf voted at his polling unit at Chiranci, Gwale Local Government Area, expressing satisfaction with the election process, on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Rabiu Kwankwaso, a key political leader in Kano and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), voted at his polling unit in Kwankwaso ward, Madobi Local Government Area.
The election is taking place amid a series of setbacks, as several courts have issued orders and counter orders against the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSEIC), questioning its authority to conduct the election.
Additionally, another court ruling has called for the resignation of the KANSEIC chairman, raising the composition of the commission’s leadership and the transparency of the process.
