A fire outbreak has claimed the lives of three family members of Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata, a serving Commissioner for Higher Education, in Kano
Dr. Kofar-mata who was said to have narrowly escaped the disaster but lost his daughter, Maimuna, his elder sister Khadija and one Juwairiyya also close relative in the unfortunate incident.
The Commissioner’s resident at Kofar-Mata quarters in the city gutted fire early Wednesday while members of the family were asleep.
Although, several valuables said to have destroyed in the unfortunate disaster, no official report available to ascertain yet.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the state fire service, Abdullahi Saminu confirmed the incident.
Saminu who spoke through telephone said the level of damage and cause of the inferno could not be ascertain immediately.
Meanwhile, Dr. Kofar-Mata revealed the lost of three of his immediate family members in the unfortunate fire incident.
In a short notice posted on his verified social media handle, the Commissioner expressed deep grief ” unto Allah we cane and to him we shall return. I mourn the loss of my daughter Maimuna (Islam), my senior sister Hajiya Khadija and my brother’s wife, Juwairiyya, who were all perished in the fire accident this morning. Their funeral prayers will be conducted at 11 am at Kofar-Mata quarters, Kano City today”.
