Ghanaian High Court Orders Auction Of Michael Essien s Mansions Michael Essien

In a significant legal development, the Ghanaian High Court has ordered the auction of two mansions belonging to former Chelsea and Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien.

The auction was mandated by the Deputy Sheriff of the High Court (Commercial Division) on June 12, 2024, following a recent court ruling against Essien.

According to reports from the Daily Guide, the properties are located at Stephen Quarshie Crescent, East Legon (House Number 9), and at Trassaco (Phase 2), Adjiringano (House Numbers 204/205), all situated in Accra. One of these properties is valued between $20 million and $30 million.

Essien’s current financial difficulties stem from large loans he acquired from various banks and financial institutions in Ghana, as reported by Africa Soccer.

Michael Essien, now 41, had an illustrious football career, playing for top clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Lyon. Despite his successful career on the pitch, these recent financial woes highlight the challenges athletes can face post-retirement.
