The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed the restoration of normalcy as Commissioner of Police CP AT Abdullahi instructed an immediate stakeholders’ meeting, culprits’ arrest, diligent investigation, and prosecution.
DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam Police Public Relations Officer, in a statement issued said report at the Command’s disposal revealed that on 25th May, 2024 at about 1700hrs farmers at Hayin Kogi were allegedly attacked by herders resident of Waza fulani settlements of Birnin kudu LGA while they were clearing bushes in preparation for wet season farming.
He said as a result, some of the Farmers escaped abandoning their tricycle, motorcycles and phones and farming implements.

The PPRO explained that neighbouring divisional police officers surrounding the forest namely b/kudu, kiyawa, dutse, buji and bamaina were mobilized to the scene.
He added that unfortunately, the herders escaped before the arrival of the police.
“in the process one Adamu Abubakar ‘m’ 42yrs of madobi village and four others who were injured, were taken to dutse general hospital where they were treated and discharged.
“The belongings of the farmers were recovered and handed over to them.
“The case is under investigation, while efforts were being intensified to arrest the fleeing culprits.”
DSP Shiisu noted that the Jigawa State Commissioner of Police CP AT Abdullahi has directed Area Commander Birnin kudu and Divisional Police Officers of B/KUDU and Kiyawa to hold a stakeholders meeting with a view to dousing tension and also avert further breach of peace in the Area.
