Breaking: We Are Respecting Court Order Restraining Sanusi’s Reinstatement, Says CP

 

Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel has insisted that security is fully obeying the Court order of the Federal high Court stopping the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi as 16th Emir of Kano.

Besides the Police chief in Kano declared unaware of Kano state government order directing the arrest of the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero adding that he would not be under any pressure to carry out instruction.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has directed the CP to arrest the deposed emir for attempting to disrupt the peace of Kano.

The CP gave the account Saturday morning, while briefing journalists on security situation around Kano emirship.

According to the CP, there was a Court order with suit no. FHC/KN/CD/182/2024 dates 23rd May 2024 issued by the federal high Court calling on all party to maintain status quo until 3rd June when the case will come for hearing and determined.

“We are calling on members of the public to know that the police in the state is working together with the military and other security agencies to provide the adequate security to everyone in line with our statutory mandate.

“Let me remind you that the position of the law is very clear as whoever under whatever guise is found to be planning to disrupt the peace being enjoyed in Kano with be death with”. CP noted.

Meanwhile, Kano state government has accused National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of orchestrating moves to use the Federal might to forcefully return Aminu back to the palace.

Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam told journalists at the Emir’s palace Saturday that state government will not be intimidated by any force including the office of the National Security Adviser to reverse its position on Sanusi.

Muhammadu Sanusi was reinstated yesterday as 16th emir of Kano after the repeal of Five emirs established by Ganduje.

Nevertheless, the deposed emir, Bayero returned to Kano through Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, at exactly 5.05am Saturday amid heavy military cover that accompanied him to Nassarawa palace, one of the resting palaces along Government house.

It was gathered that Aminu was brought to Kano will full federal authority to quash the state government action on Sanusi’s restallment.
