Hajj 2024: Kano Commences Pilgrims’ Inoculation, Medical Test at Eight Centres

 

Kano State Pilgrims’s Welfare Board has directed intending pilgrims’ for 2024 pilgrimage from eight local government areas to proceed for their compulsory medical test and inoculation.

The medical checks are of requisites required to ascertain the health condition of intending pilgrims before embarking on the spiritual exercise in Saudi Arabia.

Intending pilgrims directed to proceed for the medical test beginning from Monday 29th April, include those from Dala local government area. Those from Fagge, Gwale, Ungogo, Municipal, Nassarawa, Tarauni and Kumbotso will conduct medicals between Tuesday 30th April and 6th May respectively.

Director General of the Board, Alh. Lawinu Rabiu gave the notice while addressing journalists on the level of preparation for this year’s hajj.

The DG explained the dynamics of 2024 exercise has placed stakeholders on high expectations added that Kano state is finalizing necessary requirements in line with the directives from National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to him, the board is working tirelessly meet all requirements for capturing of state intending pilgrims on e-track for issuance of visa as well as the newly introduced pilgrims’ grouping system.

Alh. Rabiu however expressed concern over some registered pilgrims who have not yet submit their international passport to the board for visa processing, adding that such category should rather do so to avoid losing the opportunity.

The DG disclosed that daily enlightenment program for intending pilgrims will commence in due course to prepare the minds of Kano contingents on the dos and donts at the holy land.
