Kano State Government has expressed its readiness to collaborate with investors and other relevant business communities to boost trade and commercial activities in the state.

Gov. Kabir Yusuf stated this during the opening of the Kano office of Afrinvest.

The governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Kabiru Sa’id, said the state government was planning to modernise the sector by adopting technological means of trade and commerce to accelerate development.

Yusuf identified modernisation of trade and investment as well as commercial activities as the way forward.

According to him, the state is looking for partners that would be engaged in order to further enhance trade in the state.

In the same vein, the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado-Bayero, said Kano, as a commercial city, was ready to provide necessary support for economy growth in the state.

The emir, represented by Magajin Rafin Kano, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mahmud, said the partnership with government would further grow the economy of the state.

According to him, some neighbouring states also stand to benefit from future business projects of the firm.

Speaking at the occasion, Group Managing Director of Afrinvest, Ike Chioke, said that the company would contribute toward the development of the state’s economy.

Chioke, who said that Bayero Mall was one of Afrinvest’s projects in the state, added that the presence of the firm in the state would bring lots of benefits.
