Ilorin-born Abdulhamid Aliagan bags double Masters’ Degree with perfect 4.0 CGPA at US varsity

A Nigerian student from Ilorin, Kwara State, Abdulhamid Balarabe Imam-Aliagan, has bagged a double masters’ degree in Health Science and Molecular Biology from the Texas A&M University, in Kingsville, United States.

The Ilorin-born academic prodigy graduated with a perfect cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.0.

He won the “Distinguished Graduate Student Award”, during the US institution’s convocation ceremony over the weekend.

The American university said about him that: “Abdulhamid, who graduated with a perfect 4.0 CGPA, has a fervent dedication to biomedical research, particularly in cancer biology.

“Serving as the Treasurer for the Graduate Biology Student Association (GBSA), he showcased leadership and organizational prowess.

“Abdulhamid’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge is evident through his submission of a manuscript for publication in the realm of cancer research.

“Recognized for his academic excellence, he earned the College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship in 2022.

“Beyond academia, Abdulhamid engages in volunteer work, notably contributing to TAMUK Family Weekend.

“With aspirations for a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, specifically in cancer biology, Abdulhamid Imam-Aliagan stands poised for a promising career, driven by a passion to make impactful contributions to the understanding and treatment of cancer”.

It would be recalled that his senior brother, AbdulHafiz Imam Aliagan in 2021 obtained a PhD degree with Distinction in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Texas Health, at San Antonio and was offered a place as a Senior Scientist in the Pfizer’s Biomedicine Design team in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The senior brother also bagged the Johnson M. Johnson Distinguished Award for academic excellence and exceptional leadership quality.
