The Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, has made a significant announcement regarding the promotion of its personnel.
In a statement released by Abdullahi Maiwada, the National Public Relations Officer of Customs, it was revealed that the Board of Customs approved the promotion of two Assistant Comptrollers General (ACGs) and 2209 Senior Officers during its 58th regular meeting held on December 19, 2023.

The newly appointed ACGs, Florence Nano Ogar-Modey and Queen Ogubudu, are expected to play pivotal roles in advancing the customs service’s mission. In response to these promotions, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, urged the newly promoted officers to intensify their efforts in enhancing the service’s mandate.
The comprehensive promotion list encompasses officers from both General Duty (GD) and Support Staff (SS) categories who demonstrated exceptional performance in the 2023 promotion exercise. The promotions span various ranks, with 14 officers also receiving special recognition for their outstanding performance in their assigned responsibilities.
The promotions reflect the Customs Service’s commitment to recognizing merit and inspiring personnel for continued success.
