Kano Science Schools Old Students Association (KASSOSA), has elected new executives that will steer the affairs of the association in the next three years, held at Muhammad Sanusi II Theater, Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.
Speaking to Journalists immediately after the election, the Chairman electoral committee Professor Balarabe Sarki Sagagi said the exercise became necessary as the tenure of the present exco comes to an end.
Professor Sarki Sagagi maintains that the Board of Trustees of KASSOSA organizes the election in order to enable the members of the association to uplift the association to actualize its objectives.
“As you can see, we conduct this election to give all other class chapters a chance to vote for candidates of their choice to move the association forward”, Prof. Balarabe Sarki Sagagi stated.

Speaking earlier, the elected KASSOSA President Malam Balarabe Nuhu Jalla Dambatta of Dawakin Kudu Class 1989, promised to carry everybody along and promised not to let them down.
The new President reiterated his commitment to continue with the good policies of improving their alma mater and the old members.
Jalla said in the past 3 years, the KASSOSA national body has spent millions of Naira in supporting their members to be self-reliant through the KASSOSA Entrepreneurship Scheme.
“Apart from this program that torches the lives of many KASSOSITES, especially the youth among us, we have also renovated laboratories, classes, and other structures in some Science Colleges”, Balarabe Jalla.
He then appealed to other chapters of KASSOSA in Kano and Jigawa to give their quota in reviving the lost glory of the Science Colleges.
The newly elected exco of KASSOSA are:
· Balarabe Nuhu Jalla, was elected as President with 390 votes
· Abubakar Ado Gwaram, Vice President (I), with 388 votes
· Mabruka Abubakar as Vice President (II), with 377 votes
· Kabir D. Kabir, Secretary General, with 359 votes
· Abubakar A. Yakasai, Assistant Secretary General, with 368 votes
· Salisu Mustapha, Financial Secretary, scored 134 votes
· Aisha Kasim – Financial Secretary, 267 votes
· Jamilu L. Abdullahi, Treasurer has 195 votes
· Umar A. Rabo, Treasurer with 199 votes
· Bashir B. Roba, as Internal Auditor with 344 votes
· Halliru Sani, Public Relations Officer (I) scored 341 votes
· Abba T. Ibrahim, Public Relations Officer (II) with 353 votes
· Engr. Mustapha Aminu, Education Secretary has 205 votes
· Maryam U. Usman, Legal Adviser scored 290 votes and
· Binta I. Waziri, as Welfare Officer with 368 votes
In his statement after yesterday’s election, Public Relations Officer Halliru Sani said KASSOSA has become a big family where they have taken a step to ensure their members are safe anywhere they find themselves.
He assured other members that the new KASSOSA exco would make the association proud.
