Convoy Attack: Yobe Gov Purchase N7.5 Million House for Family of Slain Policeman

Governor Mai Mala Buni has directed the acquisition of a N7.5 million house for the family of the late policeman, Mohammed Maina, who lost his life in an ambush targeting the governor’s convoy.

The attack, carried out by Boko Haram terrorists on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, also left six security personnel injured.

In a statement Tuesday, the governor’s spokesperson, Mamman Muhammad said N2 million was given to the family for their immediate needs in addition to N1 million provided for the children’s school fees.

He said the governor also approved N1 million to each of the six other security men who sustained injuries.

According to him, another N2 million was approved by Buni to take care of their medical bills.

He added that the family of the deceased and those injured were also supported with food items.

Buni prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased, and the quick recovery of those injured.

The Emir of Damaturu, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Shehu Hashim ll Ibn Umar El-kanemi in the company of the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to the governor, Ustaz Babagana Malam Kyari, presented the donation to the family of the deceased policeman.
