Kano Unveils Palliative Distribution to 4,400 Persons with Special Needs

The Kano State Government has commenced the distribution of food items to more than 4,400 persons with special needs.

GOOD EVENING NIGERIA reports that the initiative is a move to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal

The launch of the distribution took place at the KASCO office in Kano, on Monday Nov, 13.

Speaking at the launching, Governor Abba Yusuf, who was represented by his deputy, Aminu Gwarzo, said the government holds those with special needs in high esteem, adding that there are more perks for them.

He explained that the palliatives would be given to 100 persons with special needs from each of the 44 local government areas of the state.

Beneficiaries, according to the governor, include those with visual and hearing impairment, spinal cord problems, leprosy, cripples and albinos.

Mr Yusuf added that each of them would be given a 10kg bag of rice and millet across the 44 local government areas.

“Today we are flagging of the second phase of distribution of palliatives to the good people of Kano state.

“The first phase consisted of the general public which each and every ward in the state received 400 bags of rice and 400 bags of maize.
