Israel says it killed Hamas rocket developer

A ball of fire and smoke rise from an explosion on a Palestinian apartment tower following an Israeli air strike in Gaza City, Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023. The militant Hamas rulers of the Gaza Strip carried out an unprecedented, multi-front attack on Israel at daybreak Saturday, firing thousands of rockets as dozens of Hamas fighters infiltrated the heavily fortified border in several locations by air, land, and sea and catching the country off-guard on a major holiday. The Israeli military said on Wednesday it had killed one of the leading weapons developers from the Islamist Hamas group in an airstrike on Gaza.

Muhsin Abu Sina was reportedly an expert in the development of rockets for the extremist group.

In spite the aerial bombardment of Gaza and Israel’s ground offensive, which followed Hamas’ massacre of 1,400 mainly civilians in Israel on Oct. 7, Palestinian militants have continued to fire rockets at Israel.

Israeli forces also said they killed several militants in the Gaza Strip overnight that “planned to fire anti-tank missiles at the forces.

“The troops directed an aircraft that struck the cell and killed several terrorists,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

Another group responsible for firing rockets at Israel was killed in a separate airstrike, the IDF said. (dpa/NAN)
