Katsina Gov’t to Screen LG Workers Amid Salary Scam Concerns

In a bid to curb fraudulent financial practices at the local government level, the Katsina state government has established a committee to conduct a ‘manpower audit’ screening of workers across the state’s 34 local government areas.

The announcement was made by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda during a special meeting with local government chairmen, personnel heads, and treasurers.

The governor explained that the screening process would involve face-to-face interviews to verify the authenticity of staff across the local governments.

“We have received several complaints on the payrolls of our local governments, which are very disturbing. Hence, we want to sanitize the local government system in our dear State,” Radda stated. He expressed concern over instances where individuals fraudulently collect more than one salary and affirmed his determination to put an end to such practices.

In related news, Governor Radda revealed that newly-recruited cadets of the Katsina Security Watch would be deployed to support security agencies in the state upon completion of their training.

This announcement was made at a Maulud gathering at Unguwar Liman in Katsina metropolis, organized by Madarasatu Darul Imam.

“The state government had already provided all the needed materials to be distributed to the cadets, after their passing out, to ensure efficient service delivery,” he added.

The chairman of the occasion, Imam Mustapha, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for his attendance at the Maulud through his brother, Sheikh Dahiru Imam.
