Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has scheduled a World Press Conference for Thursday, as announced by Dele Momodu, one of his campaign spokespersons.
While the specific agenda for the press conference remains undisclosed, it is likely related to the recently released certificates of President Bola Tinubu by Chicago State University (CSU).
Atiku had requested these documents to support his claim of forgery regarding Tinubu’s CSU certificate. The allegation of forgery was previously dismissed by the presidential election court in the case Atiku filed to challenge Tinubu’s election victory.
Despite the ruling, Atiku pursued the matter in a U.S. court, seeking official documents to substantiate his claim.

The key elements sought by Atiku’s lawyers included an example of a CSU diploma issued in 1979, Tinubu’s diploma from the same year, a CSU diploma closely resembling Tinubu’s in font, seal, signatures, and wording, and CSU documents certified and produced by Jamar Orr, an associate general counsel at CSU at the time.
While the certificate issue has garnered significant attention in the past 48 hours, Atiku has remained silent on the matter.
However, various organizations and individuals, particularly critics, have called for the president’s resignation over the controversy.
TheHuman Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) urged the Supreme Court to disqualify Tinubu or compel him to resign due to alleged identity theft and certificate forgery.
National coordinator Emmanuel Onwubiko emphasized the court’s duty to uphold justice and protect the integrity of the electoral process and democratic values in Nigeria.
