Arsenal lashes Manchester United in thrilling 3-1 victory

In a thrilling Premier League clash, Arsenal secured a memorable 3-1 victory over Manchester United, with Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus scoring stoppage-time goals.

The match was filled with drama, as Alejandro Garnacho’s late goal for United was denied by a close VAR offside call. Instead, it was Arsenal’s £105 million signing, Declan Rice, who became the hero of the day.

He brilliantly controlled a corner, fired a shot past Jonny Evans, and celebrated with the crowd, adding another iconic moment to the Arsenal-Manchester United rivalry.

Gabriel Jesus sealed the win with a breakaway goal, leaving Diogo Dalot and United’s defense in disarray. Last season, it was Eddie Nketiah who delivered a late blow to United, but this time, it was the Rice-Jesus duo.

In the first half, Arsenal’s captain, Martin Odegaard, responded swiftly to Marcus Rashford’s counter-attack goal, finding the net just 35 seconds after the restart.

Arsenal thought they had a chance to take the lead when Kai Havertz went down in the box and a penalty was awarded. However, VAR overturned the decision, as replays showed Havertz was looking for contact with Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Despite a forgettable day for Havertz, his teammates orchestrated a remarkable comeback.

This thrilling match propelled Arsenal to three wins out of four games and elevated Mikel Arteta’s side to fifth place in the league, just two points behind title rivals Manchester City.

In contrast, Manchester United finds itself in 11th place, trailing their neighbors by six points. It was a bitter ending for United, and Erik ten Hag will use the international break to reflect on their six-point tally from the opening matches, as they strive to catch up with their competition.
