The Organizing Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Kawu Ibrahim Yakasai, was abducted from his residence in Yakasai village, Kaduna State, by bandits on Friday at approximately 10:00 pm.
The assailants targeted his residence in Yakasai village, situated in Soba Local Government Area.
Formerly serving as the Chairman of Soba Local Government, Hon. Kawu Ibrahim Yakasai was forcibly seized by the bandits and subsequently taken to an undisclosed location.
Lawal Sani, a resident of Soba, expressed his hopes for the safe release of the ex-chairman and prayed for his well-being.
A member of the APC’s executive committee, speaking anonymously, verified the incident and expressed concern about Hon. Yakasai’s safety.

Mohammed Lawal Shehu, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Uba Sani, also confirmed the abduction.
He conveyed that the governor had issued directives to security agencies to pursue the kidnappers and secure Yakasai’s return.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to safety of lives and properties of all citizens of Kaduna state.
As part of this initiative, he shared plans to employ 7000 vigilantes, complementing the efforts of existing security agencies in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, DSP Mohammed Jalige, is yet to comment on the incident.
