Lawmaker Urges Tinubu to Deploy Security Personnel to End Killings, Banditry in Katsina

Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, the representative of Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency in Katsina State, has called upon President Bola Tinubu to deploy adequate security personnel to address the escalating cases of killings and banditry in Katsina State.

Reacting to a recent protest staged by his constituency members over the incessant kidnappings and killings of farmers in the region, Ahmed emphasized that the presence of additional security operatives in the state would effectively counter the ongoing insecurity and criminal activities in the area.

He said: “The President and the nation’s security chiefs should employ all legitimate and innovative means to curb the security challenges bedevilling our citizens, especially farmers in the state.

The current strategy for combating the security challenge is not enough to surmount the challenges. The peace-loving residents of the state are homeless and economically worthless”.

“Insecurity has become a major clog in the wheel of farmers’ progress in the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency,” he said, adding that he recently donated four trucks of fertilizer to the farmers but “they hardly access their farmlands because of insecurity.

“I condemn the resurgence of killings and destruction of valuable property in Katsina State. The people of the state, especially my constituents from villages in Musawa and Matazu local governments, can no longer carry out their lawful businesses because of persistent bandit attacks.”

“I, therefore, call on our amiable president, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to, as a matter of urgency, deploy massive security personnel to Katsina in order to end the wanton destruction of lives and property in the state”.

He assured the public that he is collaborating with Senator Muntari Dandutse, who represents the Funtua zone, and Inspector General of Police Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun to coordinate the deployment of 600 mobile police officers to the senatorial zone to curb the activities of bandits. zone to tame banditry.
