In a bid to keep pace with the intensifying rivalry between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg’s Threads platform, Twitter is expanding its creator monetization offering to include ads revenue sharing.
In a blogpost on Thursday, Twitter announced: “We’re expanding our creator monetization offering to include ads revenue sharing for creators.
This means that creators can get a share in ad revenue, starting in the replies to their posts. This is part of our effort to help people earn a living directly on Twitter.”
“Creators will be able to sign up for Ads Revenue Sharing and Creator Subscriptions independently.
Creator Ads Revenue Sharing will be available in all the countries where Stripe supports payouts. We are rolling out to an initial group who will be invited to accept payment.”
Eligibility
To be eligible for creator ads revenue sharing, creators must meet certain criteria. They must be subscribed to Twitter Blue or be Verified Organizations, and their posts must have garnered a minimum of 5 million impressions each month for the past three months.
Additionally, creators need to pass a human review for Creator Monetization Standards.
Requirement
According to Twitter, a stripe account will be required of any interested creator. “We work with Stripe for payouts and are rolling out to our first batch of creators who have already signed up for Creator Subscriptions. Adhere to our Creator Subscriptions policies.”
Where to apply?
Twitter say they will soon launch an application process for ads revenue sharing.
Then creators will be able to apply for both Creator Subscriptions and Creator Ads Revenue Sharing by accessing Monetization in their settings.
