The National Chairman of the Council of Ulama, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, has announced the resolution of the leadership dispute concerning the Imamship of Masjid Jami’ur Rahman in Kundila, Kano.
Following consultations with the two parties involved, the council ruled that Sheikh Muhammad Bin Usman, the original Chief Imam of the old mosque, should return to Masjid Sahaba to continue leading prayers and teaching.
Addressing journalists after the council’s meeting, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil stated that the other faction, led by Mai Kifi, will retain leadership of the newly established mosque, Jami’ur Rahman.

He further confirmed that Sheikh Muhammad Bin Usman had accepted the resolution and would continue his role at Masjid Sahaba.
The council chairman also expressed appreciation to security agencies for their role in resolving the dispute, which had sparked discussions among scholars and the public, not just in Kano but across Nigeria.
