A monitoring team under Kano’s Ministry for Public Procurement, Projects Monitoring, and Evaluation has conducted a structural assessment of Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida classroom blocks in seven local government areas: Ungogo, Dawakin Tofa, Bichi, Tsanyawa, Ghari, Makoda, and Dambatta.

The assessment was revealed in a press release from the ministry, stating that the team carried out integrity tests on each classroom block to ensure public transparency.

“We are going back to make an analysis, prepare a report, and table it before the Executive Council under the leadership of our Executive Governor, His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for proper action to be taken,” the committee chairman stated.

During the visit to Ungogo, the Commissioner emphasized maintaining quality standards and urged the contractor to accelerate work while adhering to specifications. In Dawakin Tofa, the team identified issues and instructed the contractor to implement necessary corrections in line with project standards.

At Tsanyawa, where a one-story building with two classrooms and two offices was in its early stages, the team encouraged the contractor to speed up work. Meanwhile, in Ghari, the Commissioner praised the contractor’s efforts and advised others to follow suit.

However, in Dambatta, the classroom project was at a zero level, preventing assessment.

In Makoda’s Kantudu Primary School, the contractor halted work without prior notice. The monitoring committee chairman ordered the team to summon the contractors for further action.
