Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, Kano State, held its grand matriculation ceremony on Tuesday, February 12, 2025, officially welcoming 6,000 new students into its academic community for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The colorful event, which took place at the college’s conference hall, was attended by top management staff, academic and non-academic personnel, dignitaries from the education sector, proud parents, and excited new students.
In his address, the Acting Provost of the college, Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo, congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into one of Nigeria’s leading institutions for teacher education. He urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and dedicated to their studies, emphasizing the college’s commitment to academic excellence and character development.

“This marks the beginning of an important journey in your academic and professional lives,” Dr. Gwarzo said. “Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education is renowned for producing well-rounded educators who contribute significantly to national development. We expect you to uphold the values of hard work, integrity, and respect during your time here.”
The Provost also highlighted some of the college’s recent achievements, including the successful accreditation exercises conducted by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and the National Universities Commission (NUC). He also noted the familiarization visit by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, who also serves as the Commissioner for Higher Education, as well as the provision and installation of a 500KVA transformer and streetlights by the state government.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the formal oath-taking process, administered by the Registrar, Malam Salihu Sani K/Mata.
