The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the sum of N4,836,546,000.00 for the 2025 Ramadan feeding exercise across the state’s 27 local government areas.
The Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sport, and Culture, Mr. Sagir Musa, disclosed this during a press briefing in Dutse on Tuesday, following the council meeting.
Musa announced that the council has increased the number of feeding centers from 609 to 630, ensuring wider coverage during the holy month.

According to him, “The entire Ramadan Feeding Programme will be jointly funded by the State Government, contributing 55 percent, and the Local Governments, providing 45 percent.
“The 630 feeding centers will include at least two centers in each of the 287 wards in the state, Jumma’at Mosques, prisons, rehabilitation centers, motor parks, markets, and the 15 tertiary institutions in the state.”
The council also constituted a committee to oversee the implementation of the feeding program, as presented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara.
This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on residents during Ramadan and ensure that meals are available to those in need.
