The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially released the timetable for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the sale of UTME application forms will commence on January 31, 2025, and close on March 5, 2025. Similarly, the sale of application documents and e-PIN vending for Direct Entry (DE) candidates will run from March 10, 2025, to April 7, 2025.

The Mock-UTME will hold on April 5, 2025, while the main UTME examination is scheduled to take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025.
Registration Costs
Candidates opting to take the mock exam alongside the UTME will pay a total of ₦8,200, while those registering for the UTME alone will pay ₦7,200. Below is a detailed breakdown of the costs:
- JAMB Application Fee (UTME/DE): ₦3,500
- Reading Text: ₦1,000
- CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700
- CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500
- CBT Mock Service Charge (optional): ₦1,500
- Bank Charges: ₦500
Special Mock-UTME for Underage Candidates
Prof. Oloyede revealed the introduction of a special mock UTME for candidates below the age of 16. He explained that the initiative is meant to help underage candidates assess their abilities ahead of the main examination, emphasizing that it is not for admission purposes.
Admission Age Requirements
The JAMB Registrar reiterated that candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September 30, 2025, to qualify for admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria. However, exceptional candidates under the age of 15 may be considered for admission if they meet the following criteria:
- Score at least 280 in the UTME.
- Excel in Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations and post-UTME assessments.
