The Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) in strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
This assurance was made by members of the House Committee on Health during a visit by the DMCSA management team, led by its Director General, Pharmacist Gali Sule. The visit aimed to present the Agency’s activities, highlight its achievements, and seek further collaboration.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu-butu, commended the DMCSA for its dedication, resilience, and hard work under the leadership of Pharmacist Gali Sule. He assured the Agency of the Assembly’s full support.

The Chairman of the Health Committee, Hon. Zakariyya Alasan Ishaq, representing Kura/Garun Malam constituency, praised the Agency for its remarkable progress. He described the DG’s leadership as exemplary and worthy of emulation.
Hon. Aminu Sa’ad, representing Ungogo constituency, lauded the DMCSA’s achievements and called on other agencies to replicate its transparent and effective approach to service delivery.
Earlier, the Director General of DMCSA, Pharmacist Gali Sule, provided an overview of the Agency’s activities, emphasizing its commitment to transparency and accountability. He highlighted key measures introduced under his leadership, including quarterly review meetings to assess progress and tackle challenges.
Pharmacist Sule also noted significant milestones achieved by the Agency, such as paying off over 60% of inherited debt and increasing the availability of essential drugs at healthcare facilities. He thanked the Assembly members for their unwavering support and called for continued cooperation.
In his presentation, the Director of Drugs and Supply, Pharmacist Tukur Ibrahim, outlined some of the Agency’s achievements, including:
Paying off N800 million out of N1.2 billion inherited debt.
Increasing the Agency’s fund value from a negative N102 million to N19.99 million.
Improving drug availability at healthcare facilities from 30% to 96% as of September 2024.
Expanding health facility coverage from 814 to 890 facilities.
The House of Assembly reiterated its commitment to supporting DMCSA’s efforts to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of Kano State.
