Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has consented to establishing a federal university in Southern Kaduna. This development was shared during a condolence visit to the Kukah family, where the Vice President emphasized the administration’s commitment to the region’s development.
Shettima cited the appointment of General Christopher Musa as Chief of Defence Staff as evidence of the President’s attention to the region’s security needs. He also commended Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive governance, stressing the importance of linking all parts to foster a sense of belonging.

The Vice President assured that the federal government would collaborate with the state government to ensure development reaches Southern Kaduna, particularly in road infrastructure. Discussions are also ongoing for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, Kaduna state.
Bishop Matthew Kukah expressed gratitude for the Vice President’s visit, highlighting the challenges faced by the community, including the poor state of roads. The Vice President’s announcement has been seen as a positive step towards addressing the region’s development needs.
