The Birnin Kudu Old Boys Associations (BIKOBA), has vowed to restore the lost glory of the premier Government Unity College, Birnin Kudu.
The President of the association, Alhaji Jafaru Usman Muhammad, stated this in his presidential address of the Annual General Meeting of BIKOBA held today in Kano.
Usman Muhammad who is the Turaki of Gaya Emirate noted that it is clear that the premier college that was established before the creation of old Kano State graduated many famous individuals that contributed to the development of the country.

He added that giving priority to the college is something that every member of BIKOBA is supposed to give his contribution to the developing the Alma mater.
In his remarks, chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sanusi, said that the association has embarked on bringing onboard the younger members who will make the association vibrant as they have the energy to carry-on with the activities.
Basiru Muhammad who is the Galadiman Dutse, urged the participation of individual members and other class chapters of the association in maintaining the quality of education at Government College Birnin Kudu.
In his remarks, Colonel Umaru Malami Muhammad Retired, commended the effort of the individual members and other class chapters for the unwavering commitment and support towards the achievement recorded in 2024.

Colonel Malami says the essence of the occasion is to give members the chance to reunite as well to discuss the aspect of helping one another.
“Alhamdulillah, last year this similar accessed the situation of our school in Birnin Kudu, which we have given our possible best to compliment the effort of Jigawa State Government in improving the teaching and learning environment thereby maintaining the quality of education.
“We supplied a variety of items to the college during our last AGM, which, the overall best class chapter, 1973 during its 50th anniversary, supplied many of the teaching aids that are needed, amounting to a million.
Also, former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Ganduje, who is the chairman of the board of trustees of BIKOBA, donated an eighteen sitter bus to the association which solves the executive’s transportation problem, and also we confronted him with other problems such as provision of water supply in the college”.

Malami who is the longest serving President or the association prayed to the deceased members of the association that passed away in 2024, Allah (S.W.T) in his infinite mercy forgive their shortcomings and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.
The occasion was attended by the College Director, Malam Sabo Babale, many other dignitaries, traditional rulers among other members.
Before the conclusion of the AGM, renowned academician, Professor Ibrahim Muhammad Hadejia from Bayero University Kano, delivered a lecture titled ‘Unlocking opportunities for youth in innovative Agriculture’, a focus on Kano and Jigawa States in Northern Nigeria.
Recalls that Government College Birnin Kudu, founded in 1947, is a secondary school with notable alumni from northern Nigeria.
