Engr. Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), has announced plans to focus on food security and economic development in the region.
Bichi stated that his administration would utilize the authority’s expertise in water resources management and agricultural development to achieve these goals.
“I am eager to collaborate with all stakeholders to harness the potential of the authority. We will focus on improving food security and economic development in the region, leveraging the authority’s expertise in water resources management and agricultural development,” Bichi said.

He highlighted the support provided to farmers during the dry season. “You have demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to providing food security through your indomitable support of agriculture by providing the necessary inputs to practical farmers. The tons of fertilizer you have provided to farmers for this dry season farming is unprecedented and worthy of mention,” he noted.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently approved the appointment of new leadership at HJRBDA, which includes Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, Baffa Dan Datti Abdulkadir, Hajia Zainab Gamawa, Tijjani Musa Isa, and Ma’amun Da’u Aliyu as Chairman.
These appointments aim to enhance efforts toward achieving the authority’s goals of agricultural productivity and sustainable development in the region.
