The new Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) deployed to Zone I Command, Kano and Jigawa, Ahmed Ammani Malumfashi, has assumed duty with a promise to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the region.
Ammani solicited the support and cooperation of officers and men of the Command, as well as the general public to achieve the objective of safe and secure environment for all.
He stated this in an interview with newsmen in his office.
AIG Ammani charged the good people of Kano and Jigawa state to cooperate with the Police and provide useful information that will assist the police in nipping crime and criminality in the bud.
The new AIG was recently deployed to the zone in a recent reshuffle on 25th November, 2024 by the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, following the promotion of AIG Ari Muhammad Ali to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
AIG Ahmed Ammani, an indigene of Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 18th May 1992.
Ahmed Ammani is a graduate of Hausa/IRS from the Bayero University Kano and holds a Postgraduate in Certificate in Corruption Studies from KHU in Hongkong and Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria respectively.
He is also a seasoned officer of repute and a distinguished fellow of the National Defence College, Abuja.
AIG Ammani in the course of his career as a Police officer, served at different capacity in all strata of the Nigeria Police Force and globally.
