Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, on the auspicious occasion of his 63rd birthday celebration.
The felicitation message was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Wednesday.
As the leader of the Tijjaniyya Sufi order in the country, the Governor acknowledged the Emir’s contributions in uniting the disciples of the sect and the entire Muslim Ummah in Kano and beyond.
The Governor expressed his appreciation for how Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, during his truncated reign, advocated for cultural reforms in Northern Nigeria and neighboring countries.
Alhaji Abba Kabir also applauded the Emir’s contributions to positive reforms in the banking sector when he served as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria from 2009 to 2014.
He praised Malam Muhammadu Sanusi’s philanthropic efforts in health, education, social cohesion, and overall socio-economic development in the state and the country at large.
As a revered economist and Islamic scholar of international repute, the Governor expressed hope that the Emir would continue to use his expertise and acumen to contribute to the development of Kano and the nation.
