The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the workshop, which was held in Daura, was organised by the university in collaboration with A.A. Dogara and Co.
Its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umar Adam-Katsayal, said the workshop was to arm the pioneer staff with the knowledge they needed to efficiently handle disciplinary cases.
He stressed that his administration would continue to pay attention to staff training and development, as these were very paramount to the development of any organisation.

The Vice-Chancellor further explained that with the experienced facilitators for the training, who had seen it all and had trained many consummate lawyers, the staff are well equipped with knowledge.
He, therefore, called on the participants to make proper use of the knowledge they acquired during the training in discharging their daily responsibilities in the university.
On his part, Mr Ibrahim Azara, the Principal Partner, A.A. Dogara and Co, expressed profound gratitude to God who made it possible for the August event to take place.
“I must also appreciate the Vice Chancellor, Principal Officers and members of staff for the golden opportunity given to us to serve this prestigious infant University in this capacity.
“Universities are the depositories and propagators of the highest social, ethical, and cultural values of the society.
”They are the centres of research and teaching where the cardinal prerequisites include academic brilliance with unimpeachable integrity.
“It is a sector development resource and the most important input of the production process for a knowledge-based economy.
”They focus on teaching, research, information transfer, and technology development to bring economic prosperity.
“Universities, as academic and moral training grounds, have the unique opportunity to initiate and sustain the moral revival that is so desperately needed in our nation today, especially discipline.”
Azara further highlighted that academic activities were now part of increasingly complex services in which academics and non-teaching workers working in an academic environment consciously or unconsciously encounter some legal challenges affecting their work.
“Clearly globalisation, networking, technology especially in an enlightened Community such as FUTD, Staff and Students are conscious and will become more conscious of their rights.
“They are continually raising questions of academic and legal standards and duty of care and one of the most profound questions is of law and ethics in an academic environment,” he explained.
Azara further stated that while taking actions on the violators of universities’ laws, regulations and statutes, the university staff must as well be conscious of what their action or inaction may cause.
