Kano state government expressed commitment to work with the Labour Unions for a harmonious working relationship.
The state Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye, made the assertion when he received executive members of the joint Public Service Negotiation Council (JNC), Kano State chapter who were in the ministry on a courtesy call.
Baba Halilu Dantiye who said the administration of Governor Alhaji AbbKabirir Yusuf is a labour-friendly government stressing that understanding and cooperation between labour unions will re-foster peaceful working atmosphere in the state.
He called on the civil servants in the state to redouble efforts of providing effective and efficient service delivery in order to justify their earnings.
The Commissioner however said that workers should not consider politicians as their opponents rather than partners in progress, assuring them that they are all in government to achieve the desired objectives of serving the people of the state.
Baba Dantiye assured them that he would intimate His Excellency, the governor of Kano state and Head of Civil Service of the state that he had a fruitful discussion with them on labour-related issues.
Earlier, in his address, the Kano state chairman of JNC, comrade Hashim A. Saleh said they were in the ministry to congratulate the state governor on his victory at the supreme court saying that it was a justification of the rule of law and democracy.
Comrade Hashim Saleh said that the state governor is God’s chosen governor who is best for the entire people of Kano state assuring of their support and cooperation for the overall development of the state.
He commended the state government for prompt payment of salary and commencement of payment of accumulated pension and gratuity, urging the state government to continue for good gesture.
Comrade Hashim hailed the government for directing the Kano state Universal Basic Education Board and other government agencies in the state to remit their seventeen percent monthly pension contribution to the state Pension Trustee which boosted the prompt payment of pension for retired civil servants.
