A young boy identified as Goodness Oshodi, has been arrested by the Kogi State Police Command for allegedly burying his younger brother, Friday Oshodi, alive.
The shocking incident is said to have occurred in Apamisede community, near the Army Barracks in Adavi Local Government Area, on the outskirts of Lokoja, Kogi State.
An eyewitness who spoke under anonymity, said the mother of the boy directed the suspect and her eldest son, Goodness Oshodi to punish Friday for stealing N10,000.
The elder brother in executing the directive of his mother decided to bury Friday alive.
Luckily, a good Samaritan exhumed Friday and saved his life.
The eyewithness further disclosed that when questioned about his actions, Goodness claimed that he was merely following his mother’s orders to discipline his brother for stealing her N10,000.

He also stated that their mother was away at church when the incident occurred.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, who confirmed the incident said that the boy has been arrested and undergoing interrogation.
“Yes, we are aware. The boy (Goodness) has been arrested. Investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen,” Aya said.
According to him, Goodness went and dug a pit, and buried his brother alive. However, Friday was rescued by neighbours while the suspect, Goodness has been taken into custody.
