A widely circulated image of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State returning from an extended medical trip in Germany has recently surfaced online, marking his return to the country, three months after he left.
Reports indicate that Akeredolu’s cabinet members had already assembled in Ibadan, evidently in anticipation of his return.
He initially commenced his medical leave in June, and this leave had been extended indefinitely by the Ondo State House of Assembly.
In accordance with constitutional provisions, during his absence, he had delegated his powers to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Photographs and videos depicting the Governor in a German hospital had emerged earlier when he celebrated his 67th birthday.
One of the videos showcased the Governor dancing with his wife and close associates.

A reliable source indicated that Governor Akeredolu would make a stopover in Ibadan, where he would take some days to recuperate.
“I’m also aware that some members of the state executive council might likely visit him there to welcome him back to the state,” the source revealed.
