TRANSMISSION COMPANY OF NIGERIA TCN SEEKS KANO STATE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO BOOST ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN THE STATE

Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN Kano regional office has solicited for the support of Kano State Government in executing its various uncompleted projects spread across the state.

The company Assistant General Manager AGM Muhammad Kamal Bello during a courtesy visit to the state ministry of information said that Kano State despite its population and economic status in the country, has only two transmission lines while other states have eight.

The AGM further stated that some of the impediments of the TCN projects in the state include encroachment of transmission lines right of way which militate against the expansion of the lines, provision of land for Danbatta and Walalanbe sub stations projects that have been awarded.

In a remark, the kano state commissioner for Information Baba Halilu Dantiye, said the state government remain resolute in harnessing all avenues that will boost electricity supply for industrial development.

The commissioner stated that, no responsible government will  ignore opportunity to enhance electricity supply to its people, in view of its strategic importance in boosting economic activities.
