Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of META, revealed on Tuesday the latest addition to WhatsApp’s features—a screen sharing capability during video calls.
To activate screen sharing, users can simply click on the ‘Share’ icon and choose between sharing a specific application or their entire screen.
Mark Zuckerberg stated, “We’re adding the ability to share your screen during a video call on WhatsApp.”
The new feature is designed to enhance various user experiences, whether for work, leisure, or assistance purposes. It allows users to share documents, browse photos, plan trips, shop online, provide technical support, and more by displaying a live view of their screen during a call.

Furthermore, WhatsApp users can now enjoy video calls in Landscape mode, enhancing the viewing and sharing experience on smartphones.
Since its debut in November 2016, video calling has been a significant feature on the WhatsApp platform.
In addition to the screen sharing update, WhatsApp has also announced the rollout of message editing support for media with captions on iOS.
“Added message editing support for media with captions,” stated the company in the official changelog.
The platform is also introducing an updated user interface (UI) featuring translucent bars and new action sheets. A redesigned sticker tray with improved navigation and a broader range of stickers, including more Avatars, is also being gradually introduced.

META shared that these features will be progressively rolled out over the upcoming weeks. In the previous month, WhatsApp had expanded landscape mode support for video calls and introduced the ‘silence unknown callers’ option on iOS.
