The Ondo State Police Command has officially confirmed the apprehension of a man identified as Franklin Akinyosoye, on the grounds of being found in possession of ahuman skullwithin Ondo town, Ondo State.

The arrest took place in the Elewuro area of the community.

Franklin Akinyosoye, a 26-year-old who works as a photographer and owns a boutique, reportedly claimed ownership of the human skull. According to reports, he had concealed the skull in a bag and placed it in a corner on his house premises. His landlord discovered the bag and subsequently alerted the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, revealing that the suspect confessed to acquiring the human skull from a herbalist in Osun State.

Odunlami stated, “One Franklin Akinyosuyi, male, 26 years who claimed to be a photographer and own a boutique in Ondo town was challenged by his landlord for keeping a bag in a corner of the compound.

“The landlord became suspicious and asked the young man to open the bag, and when he did, a human skull was found in the bag, thereafter he was arrested. He claimed it was given to him by a native doctor in Osun State to enhance his business.”

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and confirmed the suspect’s custody.

A source in the area reported that the teenagers, who are the children of the landlord, discovered a human head inside a black sack on the suspect’s compound. They immediately raised an alarm, leading their father to report the situation to the police.

The source said, “When a search operation was conducted by the police in the apartment of the suspect, several human parts and other items suspected to be charms and human blood were also discovered in the apartment by the police.”

“When interrogated by the police at the station, the suspect exonerated the landlord and claimed the ownership of all the items found in his possession.

“He further explained that he brought all the items from his herbalist who resides in Ikirun, Ifelodun local government area of Osun State.”
