The Kano Science Schools Old Students’ Association (KASSOSA), class ’88, Dawakin Kudu chapter has celebrated its 35-year anniversary.

The chairman of the chapter, Dr. Sani Iliya, said the essence of the gathering was to express gratitude to Allah for sparing their lives to witness 35 years after graduation.

Sani Iliya said it is a great journey to celebrate it this time, because of the immense contribution that the chapter members are rendering to society.

He noted that they will continue supporting the educational growth of the institution as a payback to society.

He thanked all those that have contributed to the development of the association, saying the class had produced great men who had contributed to the development of the school, the state and the nation in different facets of life.

He added that, “today is a great day. Some of our colleagues whom we interacted with and shared things in common 35 years ago, have reunited, and some have now passed away, which is a great day actually for those that are alive,” he said.

A former principal of the college, Malam Tijjani Abdullahi, enjoined current students of the college to emulate the class of 88 in order to promote unity among them.

The national President of KASSOSA, Malam Balarabe Nuhu Jalla Dambatta, represented by the Vice President (I) of the Association, Malam Abubakar Ado Gwaram, said the national body are aware of the immense contribution given by separate class chapters, aim at strengthening the educational standard of the institutions.

Gwaram then commended the efforts of the class chapter for reuniting themselves after departing in 1988.

The chapter has, on this historic occasion, commissioned the renovated building of the college kitchen, which before was in a dilapidated state.

KASSOSA Dawakin Kudu Class ’88 during the occasion honoured Commandant of the Police Academy Wudil, AIG Sadiq L. Abubakar, Provost of Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT), Dr. Muhammad Yusha’u Gwaram, whom they served in the college as teaching staff, other members of the chapter, Alhaji Hassan Abdulhamid Hassan, Malam Habibu Ahmadu, among others in recognition of their contribution.
