The Dawakin Tofa Academic Forum (DAF) and the Dawakin Tofa Education Trust Fund (DETFnd) have honored Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa for his exceptional efforts in advancing education for students in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
Sunusi Bature, who serves as the spokesperson for Kano State governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, received this recognition during a visit by the forum to his office on Tuesday.
The commendation was delivered through a letter of appreciation presented by Dr. Mamunu Mustapha on behalf of the two organizations.
The letter highlighted Sunusi Bature’s steadfast support for numerous students from Dawakin Tofa, particularly those enrolled in degree programmes at Bayero University Kano (BUK).
His generous contribution, which included covering registration fees for the 2023/2024 academic session, has relieved many students of financial burdens, allowing them to focus on their studies.
In addition to his support for BUK students, Sunusi Bature’s commitment extends to other institutions as well.
He has provided similar assistance to students attending the Kano State Polytechnic’s School of Science and Allied Health Sciences in Gwamai, further broadening educational access for young people in the local government area.
DAF and DETFnd emphasized that Sunusi Bature’s dedication to improving educational opportunities in Dawakin Tofa has been instrumental in helping more students pursue higher education.
They urged him to continue his efforts to raise educational standards and provide greater opportunities for the youth within the community.
This recognition underscores the significant role that leaders like Sunusi Bature play in nurturing the next generation.
His actions not only support individual students but also contribute to the overall development of the community by ensuring that young people have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed academically and beyond.
In his short response, Sanusi Bature said he is duty bound to support the educational transformation of Dawakin Tofa Local Government.
“As you are all aware, the first priority of His Excellency is education, so we are doing our very little efforts to support the overall education agenda of the present administration”
