A grand plan by the Zamfara State Government to set ablaze, the Gusau residence of the Minister State Defence Bello Mohammed Matawallen has been uncovered.
The plan spearheaded by some key Government officials was uncovered by intelligence reports, leading to attaching some security personnel to monitor and abort the attempt.
The government officials who masterminded the grand plan to burn down the minister’s residence in the capital Gusau on Thursday morning, 1st August, disguising and hunger protectors included the Gov’s Chief of Staff Mukhtar Lugga who was captured in a photograph of the arsonists leading the implementation of burning down the Minister’s residence, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura and the Gov’s social media aide Mugira Yusuf.

The arsonists who hitherto given N5,000 each to execute the project were also told to condemn President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Government to set him up against the members of the public.
Earlier on the knowledge that security was aware of the grand plan against the Minister, the State Governor Dauda Lawal Dare hurriedly left the state at the early hours of Wednesday for an undisclosed location in Abuja.
The Governor who has been battling the Minister of State for defeynce since taking over power from the former Governor, was not happy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing the former Governor as the Minister.
Part of the Gov’s unsuccessful several attempts to ridicule the former Governor included the breakage into the former Gov’s residential houses in both Gusau and his hometown Maradun, where invaluable assets and personal effects were cartered away by security agents on the Gov’s order, just within the week the former Governor handed over power to him.
The Governor also confiscated vehicles belonging to the cabinet members of the former Governor.
The Governor also attacked the former Governor on the state Airport project and set him up against the public with sponsored serial media trial.
Governor Dauda Lawal also petitioned the former Governor to EFCC, accusing him of mismanagement and misappropriation of the state funds to the tune of N70 billion Naira.
The Governor also sponsored a series of national protests at both the Presidential Villa and the National Assembly, requiring the two arms of Government to sack Matawalle from the office of the Minister.
Recently, when Dauda Lawal failed in his campaign promises to tackle insecurity within two weeks upon taking over power from Matawalle, he turned up his missiles against the Minister of state for Defence, releasing a cross border gun runner, from detention to connive in linking Matawalle with banditry sponsorship in the North Western region of the county.
On Thursday, the Governor ordered his officials to work with arsonists in the state to burn down the Minister’s residence, as luck ran against them, some of the officials were captured on camera in the acts.
