Mr Mohammed Abubakar-Umar, the outgoing Comptroller of Customs, Katsina Area Command, has attributed his success in 35 years of service to the courage, support, love and patience exhibited by his wife and the entire members of his family.

The outgoing Controller, who also holds the traditional title of Chikaren Bauchi, stated this at a retirement party organized in his honour by the command in Katsina.

According to him, the sacrifices and support of his family, especially his wife, have been the foundation upon which his career has been built.

“You have endured long hours, frequent absences, and the stress that comes with the territory of serving in such a demanding role.

“Your patience, love, and encouragement have been my anchor, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

“After 35 years of service, today, I bid farewell to my role as a customs officer, a title that has been much more than just a job, it has been a calling.

“I started this journey as a cadet (Assistant Superintendent of Customs) and I am finishing strong as a Comptroller of Customs,” he said.

Abubakar-Umar reflected on the journey with immense pride and gratitude to his creator, who according to him made the route successful.

“The lessons learned, the people met, and the experiences shared have shaped me in ways that words can hardly capture.

“I leave with a heart full of memories and a spirit enriched by the collective efforts of those around me,” he revealed.

He expressed appreciation to the state government, sister agencies, staff of the command and journalists among other partners for the support offered to him during his stay.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) also reports that dignitaries at the event included; representatives of the state government, traditional leaders, security agencies as well as family and friends.
