Kano State Hisbah Board, has announced preparation for the second batch of the State sponsor mass wedding with allocation of 50 slots to journalists in the state.
This decision comes in the wake of the success recorded in the first batch where 1,800 couples were funded.
Commander General of the board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa announced the offer while speaking with journalists on the plans for the second hosting.
Sheikh Daurawa disclosed the commitment to expanding the reach of beneficiaries to wider community following public request.
Sheikh Daurawa emphasized the program’s objective of instilling moral values and curbing immorality, particularly among the youth.
He also revealed plans to incorporate legal practitioners and healthcare professionals into the next batch of the initiative.
The Commander General stressed that with expanded arrangements with Hisbah personnel from the 44 local government areas of the state, the board is reaffirming dedication to broaden it’s statutory role.
He noted Hisbah board has collaborated with several academic institutions, including Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Amine Kano College of Islamic Legal Studies, Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education, and the Department of Islamic Studies at Bayero University, Kano (BUK), to establish a Hisbah Academy.
According to him, the academy will provide formal education and skills training related to Hisbah personnel with certificates awarded upon completion.
