Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan grants divorce to Saheed and Sekinat following allegations of lack of love and irresponsible behavior.

In a divorce suit brought before the Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, Saheed accused his wife, Sekinat, of denying him affection, refusing intimacy, and engaging in wasteful habits.

The court ruling, delivered by Mrs. S.M Akintayo, marked the end of their union amidst claims of marital discord and irreconcilable differences.

Saheed, the plaintiff, lamented Sekinat’s apparent coldness and lack of interest in their relationship. He highlighted instances where she withheld intimacy and insisted on using condoms during rare occasions of consent, which he found unreasonable. Additionally, Saheed criticized Sekinat’s extravagant cooking habits, which he believed contributed to their financial strain.

Sekinat, in response, accused Saheed of neglecting his responsibilities towards their family and resorting to violence when denied intimacy. She detailed instances of alleged physical abuse and expressed her desire for custody of their children, citing concerns for their safety and well-being.

In her judgment, Mrs. S.M Akintayo acknowledged the breakdown of the couple’s relationship and granted their request for divorce. Sekinat was awarded custody of their children, with Saheed ordered to provide for their welfare. Both parties were urged to maintain peace as they move forward separately.

The court’s decision brings closure to a tumultuous chapter in Saheed and Sekinat’s lives, underscoring the challenges and complexities of marital relationships. As they embark on separate paths, they are reminded of the importance of civility and cooperation for the sake of their children’s future.
