Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed the list of 44 nominees for their appointment as Interim Management Committees across the local councils in the state.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had transmitted the list of the nominees to the assembly for confirmation sequel to the expiration of three years tenure of the elected Chairmen and counsellors in the state.
According to the executive list, the nominees are expected to serve as interim managers of the 44 councils for three months pending when the conduct of council elections will be held.
Prior to the confirmation of the caretaker designates, the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy, Hon. Zubairu Hamaza Nassau told the plenary that all the nominees were found worthy of the proposed responsibility.
The nominees were unanimously confirmed by the assembly.
Based on the recommendations of the ad-hoc committee’s report, the House unanimously agreed to appoint the nominees to the local government interim management committees (IMCs).
The Speaker, Ismail Jibril Falgore commended the outstanding work and the great efforts put in by all the sub-committees that made the final screening possible.
The resolution passed today by the House will be forwarded to the Governor of Kano State for the swearing-in of the members of all the 44 local government councils in the state.
